Keren Black

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Keren Black, I am a first-year law student at the University of Liverpool. An important aspect of law that intrigues me is how integral it is in society; the law has aided the formation of people's values, morals, and beliefs. I would like to pursue a career in human rights law and cyber Law. I believe being able to navigate these facets of law would improve access to justice for all communities, which is what I am most passionate about.

Hello, my name is Rebeccah Startin, I am currently in my second year studying Law at The University of Derby with the aim of becoming a solicitor in the future. I chose to study law because of the diversity and challenges that the subject offers. My aim is to work in a commercial setting however, due to the continued development of skills and knowledge I am learning whilst studying I am open and willing to experience different areas that the law has to offer.

Angelika Witasik

My name is Angelika. I come from Poland and I have lived in England for nine years. I am currently in my second year of Law at University of Derby. I am a disabled person, who has heard from doctors twice that not will win. I won. Due to this, I never give up, I give 110% of myself. Moreover, I can work under time pressure. I can find myself as a member of a team or as well as a leader.

Why Criminal Law? I would like to help people. All people deserve for chance, even if they done bad things. My main interest is criminal law. I would like everyone to have the right in theory and practice to fair trials and access to the best legal protection regardless of their financial situation.

I am Gazal Gupta, a third-year law student from Manipal University Jaipur. I currently serve as the Legal Associate of Varidus, Singapore, President of Lexlawgical Club, India, and Paralegal under an eminent Supreme Court lawyer, Advocate Jagannath Nanda. I chose to study law because I was fascinated by it. I was convinced that people are unaware of their rights, and I wanted to do whatever I could to educate them about it. I am passionate about Human Rights Law, Commercial Law, and Criminal Law. I want to help others as much as possible and learn more throughout the process.

Sam Standeaven

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Sam Standeaven, I am currently a second year Law LLB with Politics student at the University of Manchester. I chose this degree because regardless of any future career paths, it is essential to have an understanding of law within society and I believe it is something everyone should have the opportunity to learn. With the blend of politics, it has given me a theoretical and practical approach to the many ordinary dealings of life as well as current global affairs. I have many passions, from sports to food, as well as travelling and interacting with people, much of which I hope to get to do soon again. Regarding law specifically, I am quite keen on criminal matters and public law. I am very interested in property law too but I still need to solidify some foundations. I have never worked in legal aid before, but I would love to be of any help.

Radia Begum

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Radia Begum, and I'm in my first year at Leeds Beckett University, where I'm studying Law with International Business and Management. The perception that Law provides a wide variety of opportunities, from skills to discovering how it operates within our lives was the driving force behind my decision to study it. I've always wanted to know how the justice system works and how it influences human lives. Criminal, corporate, and family law are three areas of law in which I am particularly interested.

Taaibah Azad

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Taaibah Azad and I am currently a first year law student, studying LLB Law at Leeds Beckett University. I am interested in law as there are various different sectors that allow you to assist others and make an impact on their daily lives. I am also interested in family law and public law, whilst also being keen to explore other sectors of law.

Muhammad Sajjad Nadeem

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Muhammad Sajjad Nadeem and I am on my third year of my LLB at the University of Manchester. The reason why I wanted to study law is because of its presence in every aspect of our lives whether it be buying a bus ticket or getting a divorce. The area that interests me the most is criminal. My interest in this area grew as I became more familiar with the surprisingly high crimes rates especially those involving a bladed article. While volunteering at the Legal Advice Centre at the University of Manchester, I have understood how restricted access to justice can be for a marginalised sector of society and the barriers that restrict the access. It is for this reason I have committed myself to get involved with as much pro Bono work that I can.

Gabriella Dalla

I have always loved the legal sector and wanted to be apart of it and to help people within the legal system. I have an interest in commercial and property law, although very keen to explore all other areas to be able to help people to the best of my abilities.

Brian Tan Yee

Community Law Project - Paralegal

Hello there! My name is Brian Tan Yee and I am a final year law student from the University of Hertfordshire. After finishing my LLB degree, I am looking to become a qualified solicitor by pursuing an LLM/LPC degree. However, my career ambitions stretch far beyond that as I also intend to become a Barrister in the future. I am also very interested in law enforcement and thus, I aspire to join the police force and possibly, the National Crime Agency.

I first chose to study law because I had a childish but idealistic belief to rid corruption from society, in particular, the political and legal circles. My interest in law is now driven by my past experiences in the education sector as a teacher assistant and Sunday School teacher and also from learning about the increasing number of cases of paedophilia and child abuse from the news. My desire to wage war on such crimes against children fuels my fascination with Family Law and Criminal Law.

Rosie Egan-Hanlon

Community Law Project - Paralegal

My name is Rosie Egan-Hanlon and I studied at Nottingham Trent for my undergraduate LLB degree and am currently studying my LPC LLM at the University of Law. My initial interest in law came through my study of it at A Level and has since flourished. I have enjoyed studying the majority of areas of law up until this point however my favourites and the most interesting in my opinion would be Real Estate, Employment or Private Client. I cannot wait to get stuck into this project!
